Modern Gardening: Fruit and Grape Growing 

This course is designed to teach students the modern gardening, fruit and grape growing, the new approaches and techniques of vineyard and orchard management. To give the accomplishments and specific interests of the field. To describe cultural and climatic requirements of grape and fruit growing. To introduce the innovative, traditional and successful methods of grape and fruit propagation and growing. To explain the attitude of cultivars to environment and the essential conditions for producing quality fruits. To explain seasonal fruit and grape training operations including pruning, suckering, leaf pulling, and trellis maintenance. To elucidate the rules and essence of organic and biodynamic viticulture and fruit growing.

Field Practice in Viticulture and Fruit Growing

The course designed to realize the theoretical knowledge of students in practice, to explain practical aspects viticulture.  To provide experience for students in development of relevant skills in current practices for spring maintenance of a vineyard. To Introduce the real situation and operations in vineyard. To teach the practical rules of the modern pruning, grafting, trellising and propagation and planting techniques.

Ornamental Gardening

This course is to emphasize ornamental/horticultural information concerning plants’ growth habit, ecological considerations, ornamental and cultural attributes, use as design components, origins, availability and commercial value of selected plant taxa in sustainable landscapes. Taxonomic classification of groups of plants and conceptual information regarding interactions among geography, global and local climatic conditions, prevalent weather patterns, and cultural practices that impact woody landscape plant selection and efficacy in regional built environments will be emphasized. Additionally we will strive to identify emerging issues in horticulture and encourage robust discussion.

Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition

The objective of this course is to provide concrete knowledge of soil conditions affecting availability of plant nutrients; function and movement of nutrients in plants; methods of determining nutrient levels in plants, soils, and other growing media. This course is also conducted to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of soil fertility, plant nutrition, and nutrient management so that they can: 1) Describe the influence of chemical, biological, and physical properties of soil and other growing media on nutrient availability to plants; 2) Identify soil fertility and plant nutrition problems and recommend proper corrective action; 3) Identify soil and nutrient management practices that maximize plant productivity and profitability while maintaining or enhancing environmental quality

Soil Ecology

The objective of this course is to deliver the students information on complicated processes occurring in belowground ecosystem: climate-plant-soil interactions, soil impact on the primary nutrient dynamics;  taxonomy and morphology of different soil organisms and their role in soil functions; soil organic matter formation, interactions among soil organisms, nutrient dynamics and microbial community. 

Sustainable Agriculture

The objective of this course is to give students comprehensive knowledge on agriculture, environment and ecology. This course aims to teach students to think strategically about threats and opportunities presented by emerging needs and to analyze the political and ethical context of decision making in agribusiness, environment, ecology and biotechnology. Students will develop the capacity to understand economic, environmental, scientific, social, cultural, ecological, political, legal, and global issues in agronomy in various aspects and viewpoints.

Advanced Plant Breeding

The main objective of this course will serve as principles of plant breeding examining concepts relevant to students in plant breeding, genetics, biotechnology and crop science. In order to improve agronomic characters and traits this course will be focused and concentrated on plant mating systems, genetic variation, environmental influences, selection and screening strategies, breeding methods and social context. As a solid and advanced breeding course, germplasm, genetics, and biotechnological method will be introduced and discussed so that students could learn and understand advanced concept of plant breeding.

Plant Biotechnology

The main objective of the course on Plant Biotechnology is to help students learn and understand basic principles and aspects of Plant Biotechnology such as: Role of Biotechnology in agriculture; Tissue Culture production; Molecular Genetics of Gene Expression; Transgenic Plant Production and, also Intellectual Property rights in Agricultural Biotechnology, and its Regulations and Biosafety aspects.

Organic Agriculture

This course introduces students to the theories, practices, and policies of organic agriculture and the role of biological control in organic farming.  Topics covered will include: farms as ecological systems; the certification process and agencies; organic matter management to support the soil food web and nutrient availability; managing biodiversity, crop rotations, plant competition, ground cover, and plant health; farming systems including diversified vegetables, perennial fruit, agronomic field crops, integrating crops and animals; and organic animal husbandry practices.  Moreover, different types of sustainable agriculture systems are to be introduced such as organic, biodynamic, permaculture, climate smart agriculture and so on.

Advanced Plant Pathology

The course aims to teach plant pathogens and diseases, factors and results of their formation, laboratory methods of identification plant pathogens. To explain: what kind of questions researchers are asking in Plant Pathology; what tools and strategies are using to answer them, and acquire both historic and contemporary view of research in the realm of plant-microbe interactions.

Entrepreneurship of Agribusiness

The course aims to teach of entrepreneurial integrity, small wine businesses and those aspiring to start a business in the wine industry, focus to develop a successful business plan.  Not only for the wine business, history and modern trend of agribusiness and in the world will be discussed and focused on this course. Agricultural business and development in many countries will be reviewed and studied according to their cultural, economic, and geographical aspects.  Course participants will be exposed to key aspects of the wine business including the regulatory climate for making and selling wine, financial frameworks to develop a vineyard and winery, create a virtual brand and different models for profitability. This course is designed to give: so-called special "BOUTUQUE WINE", etc., successful product development, starting new business or career in the wine industry and the stages, necessary details for the development of wine entrepreneur and wine business. 

Systemic Production and Marketing Technique of Wine in the World 

The course aims to give graduates general knowledge about systemic production of wine and marketing tools for the product and its related topics combined with commercial factors and a thorough system for the professional evaluation of wines. The course aims to link knowledge and understanding of chain production from vine to wine with wine markets, economics and management. Students will develop the capacity to understand economic, social, cultural, and policy issues related to wine production, consumption, marketing and international markets. They will learn about existing applications of economic concepts to wine related issues, and how to apply their knowledge to real world situations.  

Food Safety

The course is designed to educate students the importance of food safety and explain its role in  agriculture and food production. To provide knowledge and understanding in developing skills in various aspects, such as, Good Hygiene and Management practices (GHP&GMP), Hazard Analyses and Critical Control Points system (HACCP), Microbiological, Physical, Chemical Hazards, International Standards and Certification systems.

Professional English in Agronomy 

This course is designed for students of agribusiness or agriculture who are involved in English-medium graduate level studies. It provides carefully graded practice and progressions in the key academic skills that all students need, such as listening to lectures and speaking in seminars. It also equips students with the specialist agribusiness and agriculture language they need to participate successfully within an agribusiness or agriculture studies faculty. Extensive listening exercises come from agribusiness and agriculture lectures, and all reading texts are taken from the same field of study. There is also a focus throughout on the key agribusiness and agriculture vocabulary that students will need.

Integrate Pest Management

The main objectives of this course are: to study development and implementation of IPM programs in agro ecosystems; understanding benefits of IPM which can increase biodiversity and eco-friendly environment in developing agricultural farming system.  Understanding such as: reduces the need for pesticides by using several pest management methods; Shield the environment from excessive or unnecessary pesticide applications; promotes sound structures and healthy plants.  As well-maintained homes and lawns better withstand damage from pests, students will learn how to build solid farm and healthy plant ecological system by managing plants, disease, and insects interaction through combining biological, mechanical, chemical, and conventional cultural agricultural practice. Understanding of the basic principles and sufficient information to guide implementation of IPM into practice.

Turfgrass Management

This course is designed to acquaint student with the knowledge of lawngrass improvement, breeding, selection, management, and application; how to lawngrass grow and develop, the nature of the physical environment in which lawngrass occur, the cultural operations performed in lawngrass management, and lawngrass species characteristics, including identification, environmental adaptation, cultural requirements and uses.  Moreover, plants(grass) and disease interaction will be discussed and studied so that students can understand to combine biological, chemical, cultural, and various pest control to manage agronomic field.
